Featuring a striking kite shape, this American Mined™ Arizona peridot displays an an appealing green color and a clarity that makes it a great choice for your custom designs. Set a single gemstone in a simple ring, match it with gems of similar or complementary colors, or use a pair to make earrings. Peridot is one of the birthstones for August. Peridot is the gem form of the mineral olivine and is one of the few gemstones that occurs only in one color. The the green hues can vary from yellowish to brownish green, from light olive green to vibrant green. The color of each gem is a result of iron in its chemical composition. A revival from the 1920s, the kite cut features four sides and a large table that enhances the brilliance of the gemstone. Rio is proud to offer the American Mined™ Collection, a growing selection of gemstones sourced from mines located here in America. These gemstones consistently present the excellent color, clarity and quality we look for in every gem we offer you. Each of these gemstones allows us to provide a clear, documentable path from the mine to your bench; you and your customers can be confident that every one is mined, cut and processed under conditions that meet all standards for worker safety, environmental protection and responsible production.
