Marquise Filigree Safety Clasp

This sterling silver marquise-shaped safety clasp features an intricate open filigree design with a floral accents. Its elongated shape and delicate pattern look great when paired with knotted-pearl strands or other beaded strands. Safety clasps (also called pearl clasps) feature two parts that connect in two different ways, providing a fail-safe that helps prevent loss of higher-value necklaces or strands and are ideal for pearl and gemstone strands. The interior part of the clasp is a slender hook with notches along the outer edge; the exterior part is hollow except for a locking bar. The interior part hooks over the locking bar and then slides inside the exterior part, the notches catching along the inner sides to hold the clasp securely closed.
