This Fretz PL-1 tool is designed for smoothing and refining metal contours using embossing (chasing) techniques. The shank of the tool is squared-off and matte-finished with a 90° twist at the end, providing a secure, slip-free grip while working. The tip of the tool is highly polished with a mirror finish to form without marring the metal surface. Planishing chasing tools are used to smooth the relief areas of an embossed design; these tools are highly polished with shaped tips and usually feature a straight wall that helps them access the floor and walls of free-form and geometric concave areas.
