This set of Glardon Vallorbe® diamond needle files includes six commonly used file shapes and ensures you have the file shape you need for all of your jewelry designs. Diamond files feature cutting surfaces created by embedding particles of industrial diamond into the surface material of the file. The sharp cutting edges and the hardness of the diamond makes these files effective on fragile materials such as stone, ceramic or glass and on very hard metals such as hardened steel or platinum. Diamond files cut quickly and smoothly every stroke, forward or back. Needle files feature a miniature profile with a shorter cutting surface (typically about half their length) and round, narrow handles. These small files are ideal for working on fine details and in small areas of the workpiece; they're ideal when access and surface finish take priority over metal removal. Though they can be used as-is, securing the file in a handle (available separately) improves control for better precision and tool safety.
