This 18mm, 20-gauge double-clad 14/20 yellow gold-filled square stamping is ideal for shaping into components for your designs. The stamping is die struck with clean, crisp edges and will require some finishing to smooth its edges and polish its surface. Use dapping techniques to create concave or convex designs. It is a perfect foundation for other findings, including bezel cups or flat-bottom prong settings, as a backdrop for wire-wrapping designs, and for personalizing with light engraving or design stamps. Or engrave filled metals deeply to create two-tone looks once a stamping has been formed as desired. This tag is 1/2-hard; it should arrive well-flattened and is partially work-hardened so that it will hold its shape under some stress. The 14/20 notation refers to the ratio of karat gold to base-metal core by weight; the first figure is the karat value of the gold layer, the second is the total percentage (by weight) of precious metal contained in the item.
