This teardrop-shaped citrine bead is fully rounded and scored from top to bottom, giving the bead a corrugated look. The textured finish provides an attractive light-catching quality that looks great when used for pendants, drops and earrings. The bead is vertically half-drilled, making this bead an ideal choice for pendant and earring designs, either used individually or combined with an assortment of other colors of gemstone beads and pearls—it looks especially good with silver findings. Use jeweler’s epoxy to secure the bead on a peg. Citrine, although often mistakenly referred to as topaz, belongs to the quartz family. The yellow color of this gemstone is due to the presence of iron in the trigonal crystal structure. Named for its bright citrus color, citrine can present a range of yellow hues, from pale yellow to deep brownish gold.
