This kyanite round cabochon features a sapphire-blue color with some inclusions. The gemstone's blue color occurs naturally without dyes or other treatments; it is a great choice for custom jewelry designs—create a simple pendant or post earrings or pair it with complementary-color gemstones to create a more complex bracelet or necklace design. The kyanite mineral, composed of aluminum silicate is usually found in metamorphic rock—modified by extreme pressure, chemical processes and heat, creating layers or bands; kyanite occurs in long, thin bladed crystals.
