This platinum setting holds one 1/2-ct. (5mm, approx.) round faceted gemstone. A low-base setting holds the gemstone close to the surface of the design, presenting a unified look for the overall design. A classic choice, the 4-prong setting supports the gemstone on four sides. Use peg settings in ring shanks with a hole; they allow you to be more accurate, clean and quick when positioning the setting on the shank.
