Crystal Quartz Round Rose-Cut Cabochon

The natural transparency of this round rose-cut crystal quartz makes it an ideal alternative to expensive white gemstones and a naturally occuring alternative to CZs. The rose cut makes this gem well suited to vintage-style designs. One of the most common minerals, quartz comes in many varieties and colors. The two main categories are macrocrystalline, which are usually transparent and crystals are visible, and cryptocrystalline, which appear translucent or opaque. The many varieties of quartz each offer distinct characteristics and, according to folklore, their own powers and purposes. A favorite of yesteryear, this rose-cut faceting features a flat base (no pavilion) and a crown made up of triangular facets.
