Created to exacting standards, using state-of-the-art gem-lab technology from high quality material grown in the United States, this lab-grown alexandrite has a chemical make-up identical to the finest natural alexandrite. The gemstone provides more consistent color tones while refracting clean bright hues, especially under florescent light. It performs at the bench just as a natural gemstone does but, unlike natural alexandrite, this lab-grown gemstone is heat-resistant and can be successfully cast or fired in place. Alexandrite is the birthstone for June. The emerald-cut has a rectangle shape and cut corners. Its facets are concentric planes that resemble stair-steps around the circumference of the gemstone, above and below the girdle.
