This sterling silver ring mounting features a tapered shank with an open heart-shaped scroll design and a mounting that holds one 14 x 10mm (approx.) oval cabochon or other flat-back stone. Cabochon mountings feature a flat, sometimes open, base and raised edges with two to four prongs that hold a cameo or cabochon securely in place. Set your cameo or cabochon into the mounting, then burnish the prongs over the stone to secure it in place.
