This 14-karat marquise-shaped white gold safety clasp features an intricate open filigree design. The bright-white color and intricate design of the clasp look great when paired with pearl strands or other beaded strands in bracelet or necklace designs. Safety clasps (also called pearl clasps) feature two parts that connect in two different ways, providing a fail-safe that helps prevent loss of higher-value necklaces or strands and are ideal for pearl and gemstone strands. The interior part of the clasp is a slender hook with notches along the outer edge; the exterior part is hollow except for a locking bar.
