This convex fluting “start” cuff-forming stake from Fretz® is one of two progressively designed styles available; used in tandem, they streamline the process of forming narrow fluted cuff bracelets and bangle bracelets. This stake features a shallower pitch to enhance the beginning formation of the flute you're creating. Use it in turn with the "finish" stake, which provides a sharper pitch for completing your flute. This stake is also a basic stake for creating thin convex flutes for small hollowware pieces. Stakes provide a surface under (or inside) the metal that enhances the work of the hammer in creating a wide variety of curves, folds and shapes. Choose stakes with surface features that allow you to create the forms you want.
