This sterling silver hook & eye clasp features a round shape and a smooth, bright finish. The hook features a narrow opening on its side that slides over a groove in the eye to close the clasp; because the opening is on just side, the design adds security to the clasp. Hook & eye clasps are two part clasps that close by hooking one side (the hook) to a large closed ring (the eye). They tend to be larger than other clasp types and are ideal for larger designs, bead strands or bib-style necklaces. The open hook relies on the necklace having enough weight to keep the clasp secure.
