This round, rose-cut tanzanite features an attractive blue and purple trichroism; an ideal choice for one-of-a-kind jewelry designs. These gemstones are cut to show the orientation of deep blue to violet-blue colors; the blue color is due to the traces of vanadium in the crystal structure. A favorite of yesteryear, this rose-cut faceting features a flat base (no pavilion) and a crown made up of triangular facets.
