Matt’s flux begins fluxing at a lower temperature than borax, yet continues fluxing at a higher temperature than boric acid. It’s also pH-balanced at fluxing temperatures. This increases crucible life and helps quickly dissolve oxides in the metal. Also good for glazing new crucibles before use.
