This handcrafted, 14-karat heavy yellow gold-plated sterling silver hook & eye clasp features a slightly flattened profile and a bright finish. Its simple design complements a variety of beaded or fabricated necklace and bracelet styles made with gold components. It is made of sterling silver and heavily plated with a 40-mil thick layer of pure 14-karat gold—a far more substantial layer than traditional plating.Hook & eye clasps are two part clasps that close by hooking one side (the hook) to a large closed ring (the eye). They tend to be larger than other clasp types and are ideal for larger designs, bead strands or bib-style necklaces. The open hook relies on the necklace having enough weight to keep the clasp secure.
