The AA-grade white freshwater cultured pearls on this strand feature a semi-round shape and nearly blemish-free surface, making them an ideal choice for high-end necklace and bracelet designs. String the pearls on their own to make a pearl necklace or pair them with other colors of pearls and beads for a more complex, multi-color look. Freshwater cultured pearls are cultivated in fresh water from mussels, often the triangle shell mussel (Hyriopsis cumingii), that are specially selected for their prolific production of nacre. It is not unusual for a single mussel to produce multiple pearls simultaneously. According to one legend, the pearl was formed from the tears of the goddess of love. For many, pearls are a symbol of pure heart and mind, honesty and integrity. AA-grade pearls are nearly blemish-free and present a deep, excellent luster. Each package includes one temporarily strung 15"–16" strand.
