The multi-hued A-grade round freshwater cultured pearls on this strand feature an assortment of black, white and gray colors; ideal for combining with silver findings in monochromatic necklace and bracelet designs. The smooth, oval shape makes them a great choice for traditional designs. For a more dramatic look, separate the strand and use the pearls with other styles and colors of beads—the black, white and gray color of the pearls are a good neutral color for multi-color designs. Freshwater cultured pearls are cultivated in fresh water from mussels, often the triangle shell mussel (Hyriopsis cumingii), that are specially selected for their prolific production of nacre. It is not unusual for a single mussel to produce multiple pearls simultaneously. According to one legend, the pearl was formed from the tears of the goddess of love. For many, pearls are a symbol of pure heart and mind, honesty and integrity. A-grade pearls feature surfaces that show a few insignificant blemishes. Their luster is good, exhibiting some depth. Each package contains one temporarily strung 15"–16" strand.
