This miniature concave-forming stake from Fretz® features three concave surfaces and three acute convex peaks; it is ideal for making custom bezels to tailor-fit stones as well as forming and planishing a wide variety of metals. During forming and planishing, the stake supports the metal while it is worked directly with a hammer. By working on different areas of the stake, you can control the shape and dimension of the metal. Designed by Bill Fretz, miniature stakes are specially created for smaller-scale shaping and forming such as rings, bezels and small vessels that can be difficult to make using full-sized stakes. The shapes and sizes of these stakes allow you to precisely shape smaller bezels for rings, bracelets and pendants by stretching the metal to form curves, cups and rims.
