The A-grade freshwater cultured potato-shaped pearls on this strand feature a Raven's Wing deep blue-purple iridescent color with occasional gold overtones that catches the eye—the pearls vary slightly in size and shape, adding interest to custom necklace and bracelet designs. String them on their own to make a single-color necklace or bracelet, or separate the pearls and combine them with other colors of pearls and gemstone beads—highlight the color of the pearls with silver findings. Freshwater cultured pearls are cultivated in fresh water from mussels, often the triangle shell mussel (Hyriopsis cumingii), that are specially selected for their prolific production of nacre. It is not unusual for a single mussel to produce multiple pearls simultaneously. According to one legend, the pearl was formed from the tears of the goddess of love. For many, pearls are a symbol of pure heart and mind, honesty and integrity. A-grade pearls feature surfaces that show a few insignificant blemishes. Their luster is good, exhibiting some depth. Each package contains one temporarily strung 15"–16" strand.
