This 14-karat yellow gold ring mounting features an open design and a cup & twist pearl peg mounting at the center of the shank. The open shank tapers from 7.1mm to 2mm. Mountings that aren't designed for specific pearl sizes accommodate a wide range of pearl diameters. For best results on mountings with a cup, choose a pearl at least 2mm larger than the cup diameter. Use jeweler’s epoxy to secure the pearl on the peg; the texture of the twist provides a more secure hold for the epoxy.
