This 12/20 yellow gold-filled single-clad sheet offers the benefit of having fabrication metal on hand when you need it; custom-cut it to the exact length your design requires while the width remains fixed at 4" (101.6mm). (And collect all your scraps—you'll help recycle precious metals and collect cash for your efforts).

Available in 1/2-hard options, this sheet suits a variety of applications. Dead soft sheet is easy to bend, shape and hammer—ideal for forming, wrapping, and detailed shaping. 1/2-hard sheet is partially work-hardened and will hold its shape under moderate stress, making it ideal for structural elements that support other components. Keep in mind that hardness is changeable (by annealing or heat-hardening) and is relative among metal types (each temper will feel and handle differently from one metal to another). When finishing your pieces, also keep in mind that the harder the metal is, the brighter a finish it will take. This sheet features a mill finish.

Offered in gauges 18, 20, 22 each thickness brings its own advantages. 20-gauge sheet is useful for bezel back plates that will have texture or embellishments applied, for wide-shank ring shanks, for pendants and for cuff bracelets. As you know, metal sheet has as many uses as there are jewelers and designers who use it to achieve their vision; these suggested uses simply represent some of the more common applications of this metal weight.

This sheet is stocked in 4" x 36" master sheets—at least one dimension must remain 4". Due to the cutting capabilities of the shear, the minimum purchase is 4" x 1", and you may order by the inch (25.4mm) in length.

Gold-filled materials allow you to design and fabricate using the desirable color of karat gold while preserving a more affordable price point than is possible with solid gold. Its economical cost allows greater flexibility for experimenting with new designs or creating lines of fashion jewelry. Because this material is single-clad, the total gold weight is bonded to one side of the substrate only
