This 24-gauge double-clad 14/20 yellow gold-filled oval stamping is ideal for shaping into components for your designs. The disc is die struck with clean, crisp edges and will require some finishing to smooth its edges and polish its surface. Use dapping techniques to create concave or convex designs; make round or saucer beads using matching dapped pairs of discs. It is a perfect foundation for other findings, including bezel cups or flat-bottom prong settings, as a backdrop for wire-wrapping designs, and for personalizing with light engraving or design stamps. Or engrave filled metals deeply to create two-tone looks once a stamping has been formed as desired. Gold-filled stampings deliver karat gold at a more affordable cost than solid gold, allowing you to design with the touch of precious metal customers look for and to offer your designs at a price customers appreciate. This stamping has a soft temper; it may arrive with a slight dome and is easy to bend, shape and hammer. Gold-filled items are made by heat- and pressure-bonding a layer of 14K (or 12K) gold to a base-metal core. The 14/20 notation refers to the ratio of karat gold to base-metal core by weight; the first figure is the karat value of the gold layer, the second is the total percentage (by weight) of precious metal contained in the item. On double-clad items, the quantity of precious metal is divided between the upper and lower surfaces of the core metal. Manufactured to exacting quality standards in our solar-powered facility.
