This hard, sterling silver round wire, the bread-&-butter of jewelry making, is useful for creating components and for a wide variety of techniques. Hard wire is significantly work-hardened. It does not bend readily and holds its shape after forming, making it ideal for clasps and hinges. Keep in mind that hardness is changeable by annealing, heat-hardening or work-hardening.
