Green Quartz Round Rose-Cut Cabochon

The spring-like green color of this affordable rose-cut quartz is achieved by irradiating and heating pale Brazilian amethyst. Green quartz is often called green amethyst. Set it in a bezel mounting to make a simple pendant or combine it with complementary-color gemstones to create complex pendant designs as well as matching sets including earrings and bracelets. One of the most common minerals, quartz comes in many varieties and colors. The two main categories are macrocrystalline—which are usually transparent, and crystals are visible—and cryptocrystalline, which appear translucent or opaque.
