Tanzanite Faceted Round Bead Strand

The bluish-purple tanzanite beads on this strand feature a round shape with facets that catch and reflect light. Use the bead strand as is or use the beads individually to add texture and rich color to custom necklace, bracelet and earring designs. Tanzanite, a name first used by Tiffany & Co., is a blue/purple variety of zoisite, which is a trichroic gemstone—it often exhibits different colors when seen from different directions. These beads are cut to show the orientation of deep blue to violet-blue colors; the blue color is due to the traces of vanadium in the crystal structure.
