Ideal for eye-catching strung desings, the 4mm mixed blue apatite beads on this strand feature an attractive bi-cone shape and light- to medium-blue tones. Apatite presents bright, strong blue or green color and attractive, visible inclusions when properly cut. The gem occurs as hexagonal prisms or tabular crystals and consists of calcium phosphate with some fluorine, chlorine, and other elements. The name "apatite" is Greek in origin from a word meaning "to deceive," due primarily to its similarity to other minerals such as olivine, peridot and beryl. Ready to string; package contains one temporarily strung 15"–16" strand.
