Add flashes of bright color to your designs with this oval Korite ammolite triplet cabochon. Use a single cabochon to provide a vivid color to a necklace or earrings, or use multiple gems to create matching sets. The microstructure of the fossilized aragonite shell material that creates ammolite gives the gemstone iridescent flashing colors similar to opal and labradorite. The most common colors are reds and greens, though all visible colors are possible. Because ammolite is usually thin (less that one millimeter), most gem rough is used to produce triplets with a dark backing and a clear cap.
