The A-grade white freshwater cultured semi-round pearls on this strand feature a smooth finish and nearly blemish-free luster. Perfect for high-end jewelry designs made with silver, palladium or gold findings, this pearl is a great choice for earrings, bracelets and pendants, either on its own or combined with other colors of pearls and gemstones. Freshwater cultured pearls are cultivated in fresh water from mussels, often the triangle shell mussel (Hyriopsis cumingii), that are specially selected for their prolific production of nacre. It is not unusual for a single mussel to produce multiple pearls simultaneously. According to one legend, the pearl was formed from the tears of the goddess of love. For many, pearls are a symbol of pure heart and mind, honesty and integrity. A-grade pearls feature surfaces that show a few insignificant blemishes. Their luster is good, exhibiting some depth. Each package contains one temporarily strung 15"–16" strand.
