This high-quality Kunzite round cabochon displays a variegated soft pink color that ranges from translucent to opaque and may include ribbons of purple, lavender and white depending on the manganese content. Kunzite looks great in silver and other white-metal settings and is ideal for use in bracelets, pendants and brooches; it is also suitable for rings. Some consider kunzite to be an alternative birthstone for February. A favorite of gem collectors, kunzite is named after George Frederick Kunz, who was Tiffany & Co.'s chief jeweler when the mineral was discovered 1902.
