Arkansas Ice Quartz™ is produced in mines located in Blue Springs, Arkansas. The gemstones display an incredible clarity, a mirror-like luster, unique striations and are found in larger-than-usual sizes. The bright clear formation of these crystals makes them a great choice for a variety of jewelry designs. This gemstone shows the superior cut, clarity and active scintillation required to be classified as a top-quality AAA-grade gemstone. One of the most common minerals, quartz is found in many varieties and colors. The two main categories are macrocrystalline, which are usually transparent with visible crystals, and cryptocrystalline, which appear translucent or opaque. The many varieties of quartz each offer distinct characteristics and, according to folklore, their own powers and purposes. The natural transparency of clear crystal quartz makes it an ideal alternative to expensive gemstones or CZs. Clear quartz is highly prized for its perceived ability to dispel negativity and enhance spiritual receptivity; it is considered the preeminent healing crystal due to its ability to magnify or amplify the healing vibrations of other crystals. Rio is proud to offer the American Mined™ Collection, a growing selection of gemstones sourced from mines located here in America. These gemstones consistently present the excellent color, clarity and quality we look for in every gem we offer you. Each of these gemstones allows us to provide a clear, documentable path from the mine to your bench; you and your customers can be confident that every one is mined, cut and processed under conditions that meet all standards for worker safety, environmental protection and responsible production. The pear cut is a hybrid of the oval and marquise cuts; it is usually oriented with the point uppermost.
