The apatite beads in this strand feature a faceted roundel shape that reflects light and draws the eye, making them an ideal choice for necklace and bracelet designs—the beads are light-to-dark aqua and they vary slightly in size and shape. String the beads on their own or combine them with other gemstone and metal beads to create more complex pendants, bracelets and earrings; roundel beads make great spacers. Complete the designs with silver or yellow-gold findings to highlight the beads’ color. Apatite presents bright, strong blue or green color and attractive, visible inclusions when properly cut. The gem occurs as hexagonal prisms or tabular crystals and consists of calcium phosphate with some fluorine, chlorine, and other elements. The name "apatite" is Greek in origin from a word meaning "to deceive," due primarily to its similarity to other minerals such as olivine, peridot and beryl. Ready to string, this package contains one temporarily strung 15"–16" strand.
