Created to exacting standards, using state-of-the-art gem-lab technology and minute attention to detail, this lab-grown emerald has a chemical make-up identical to the finest Colombian emeralds. Its color is a more intense green than the natural gemstones can offer, and it performs at the bench just as a natural gemstone does. Unlike natural emeralds, however, this gemstone is heat-resistant and can be successfully cast in place. Emerald is the birthstone for May. The emerald-cut has a rectangle shape and cut corners. Its facets are concentric planes that resemble stair-steps around the circumference of the gemstone, above and below the girdle.
