This dead-soft, sterling silver slotted round wire features a 0.032" box-like slot cut into the length of the wire. The slot is sized to accommodate 20-gauge sheet, making the wire ideal for adding borders to belt buckles, cuff bracelets, earrings and other designs. This sterling silver wire performs exceptionally well when you need to bend the wire around corners and along curves; simply trim it to size and solder into place. Dead soft wire is easy to bend, shape and hammer; it is an ideal starting point for forming, shaping and wire-wrapping. Keep in mind that hardness is changeable (by annealing or heat-hardening) and is relative among metal types (each temper will feel and handle differently from one metal to another). When finishing your pieces, also keep in mind that the harder the metal is, the brighter a finish it will take. 10-gauge wire is useful for cuff and bangle bracelets.
