14/20 Yellow Gold-Filled 101.6mm Double-Clad Sheet, 1.02mm, Full-Hard

Double-clad gold-filled sheet features a 14K yellow gold layer on both sides of a CDA #220 core (90% copper/10% zinc). Sheet offers the benefit of having fabrication metal on hand when you need it; keep sheet on hand and custom-cut it to the exact size and shape your design requires. (And collect all your scraps—you'll help recycle precious metals and collect cash for your efforts). Hard gold-filled material is significantly work-hardened and, though it does not bend readily, it stubbornly holds its shape after forming; it is ideal for clasps and hinges. Keep in mind that hardness is changeable (by annealing or heat-hardening) and is relative among metal types (each temper will feel and handle differently from one metal to another). When finishing your pieces, also keep in mind that the harder the metal is, the brighter a finish it will take. This sheet features a mirror finish. 18-gauge sheet is useful for pendants, mid- and narrow-width ring shanks and for cuff bracelets. As you know, metal sheet has as many uses as there are jewelers and designers who use it to achieve their vision; these suggested uses simply represent some of the more common applications of this metal weight.This sheet is stocked in 4" x 36" sheets—at least one dimension must be 4". Due to the cutting capabilities of the shear, minimum purchase is 4" x 1/4".
