Copper 12.7mm Strip, 1-Lb. Coil, 0.51mm, Dead-Soft

This dead-soft, 24-gauge copper bezel strip is formed from round wire that is rolled to flatten it; the edges of the strip are slightly rounded. Bezel wire is an economical way to get a jump-start on the designs you're creating. Depending on the metal you're using and design you're fabricating, wider or heavier-gauge strips serve well for ring bands or shanks and for shaping bangle or cuff bracelets. Narrower sizes are great for creating designs to be soldered onto discs or stampings and for shaping cells for inlay. Heavier gauges are well-suited for applying textured and hammered finishes. Lighter gauges lend themselves beautifully to cutting discs, earring components or overlays for more intricate designs. Dead soft copper strip is easy to bend, shape and hammer; it is an ideal starting point for forming, shaping and wire-wrapping. Keep in mind that hardness is changeable (by annealing) and is relative among metal types (each temper will feel and handle differently from one metal to another). When finishing your pieces, also keep in mind that the harder the metal is, the brighter a finish it will take. Sold in a 1-lb. coil to prevent damage.
