Glardon Vallorbe® Valtitan® Three-Square Needle File, Cut #0

This Glardon Vallorbe® Valtitan® three-square (triangle) needle file is ideal for filing corners, edges, sharp angles, creases or folds, and for shaping the prongs on marquise- or pear-cut settings. It is highly recommended for working with platinum and other hard metals. The file has three flat sides of equal width that taper to a fine point, and the edges are rounded to protect adjacent structures as you file. Valtitan® files deliver better performance on hard-to-file surfaces (such as platinum and titanium), have great corrosion resistance and long service life. Valtitan files are specially treated for hardness (72 HRC, the hardest steel file available). The teeth on these files resist metal accumulation so that a quick, sharp knock is usually enough to clear them. This file has a Swiss cut #0; Swiss-cut files are graded by the number of teeth, counting teeth perpendicular to the long axis of the file. In all cut styles, the higher the number, the finer its cut. Needle files feature a miniature profile with a shorter cutting surface (typically about half their length) and round, narrow handles. These small files are ideal for working on fine details and in small areas of the workpiece; they're ideal when access and surface finish take priority over metal removal. Though they can be used as-is, securing the file in a handle (available separately) improves control for better precision and tool safety.
