Titanium 152.4mm x 76.2mm Sheet, 0.40mm, Soft

This Grade-1, commercially pure titanium sheet is specially etched for anodizing applications but is ideal for a wide range of fabrication uses. It is ductile and can be formed with a bit of effort. The metal is corrosion-resistant and hypoallergenic. Surface finish and hardness will vary somewhat. Sheet offers the benefit of having fabrication metal on hand when you need it; custom-cut it to the exact size and shape your design requires. Soft sheet is relatively easy to bend, shape and hammer; it is an ideal starting point for forming, shaping and wrapping. Keep in mind that hardness is changeable (by annealing or heat-hardening) and is relative among metal types (each temper will feel and handle differently from one metal to another). When finishing your pieces, also keep in mind that the harder the metal is, the brighter a finish it will take. 26-gauge sheet is useful for fold-forming components. As you know, metal sheet has as many uses as there are jewelers and designers who use it to achieve their vision; these suggested uses simply represent some of the more common applications of this metal weight. Sold in pre-cut 6 x 3" sheets; minimum order is one piece. Titanium is a strong, lightweight silver-gray metal with low toxicity (so low that it is safe even for those with extreme sensitivities to metal jewelry) and virtually no susceptibility to tarnish. Our titanium is Grade-1, commercially pure, material. Titanium is one of a handful of metals with the unique properties of a reactive metal; this allows titanium to take on a controllable, repeatable range of colors when exposed to various voltages in an electrically charged bath, a process called anodizaton. The colors produced will not rust and cannot be rubbed off, although, over time, its luster may dull somewhat. Titanium is ductile and can be formed with a bit of effort; its surface finish and hardness varies somewhat.
