Titanium Round Wire, 3.05 m. Coil, 1.29mm, Soft

This Grade-1, commercially pure soft titanium round wire is specially acid-cleaned for anodizing applications but is ideal for a wide range of fabrication uses. It is ductile and can be formed with a bit of effort. The metal is corrosion-resistant and hypoallergenic. Round wire, the bread-&-butter of jewelry making, is ideal for creating components and for a wide variety of techniques. Soft wire is relatively easy to bend, shape and hammer; it is an ideal starting point for forming, shaping and wire-wrapping. Keep in mind that hardness is changeable (by annealing or heat-hardening) and is relative among metal types (each temper will feel and handle differently from one metal to another). When finishing your pieces, also keep in mind that the harder the metal is, the brighter a finish it will take.This pre-measured coil contains 10 ft. of wire.Titanium is a strong, lightweight silver-gray metal that is generally safe for those with sensitivities to metal jewelry and virtually no susceptibility to tarnish. Our titanium is Grade-1, commercially pure, material.Titanium is one of a handful of metals with the unique properties of a reactive metal; this allows titanium to take on a controllable, repeatable range of colors when exposed to various voltages in an electrically charged bath, a process called anodizaton. The colors produced will not rust and cannot be rubbed off, although, over time, its luster may dull somewhat.Titanium is ductile and can be formed with a bit of effort; its surface finish and hardness varies somewhat.
