Black Mother-of-Pearl Oval Cabochon

This black mother-of-pearl oval cabochon features a pearly, iridescent “oil-slick” color that complements a variety of metal types. Use it as the centerpiece of a pendant or brooch, or as the front of a decorative button. Partner it complementary-color cabs to create matched sets with brooches or earrings, or use it to create more complex, multi-stone necklace designs. Named for its resemblance to the finish and color of pearls, mother-of-pearl cabochons are made from the hard, iridescent material that forms on the inside of some shells and shellfish.
