Designed by Bill Fretz, this PrecisionSmith hammer is built for toughness and durability. PrecisionSmith hammers are jeweler's hammers, scaled down to be ideal for lighter metal gauges, filigree and other fine work. The face size, head as well as the weight, length and pistol-grip end of the handle are all designed to Bill Fretz’s specifications for the ideal precision chasing hammer. The handle is made of Padauk wood, known for its strength, stability and beauty, and is oil-finished; it's specially shaped to give you a light touch, and the thin neck flexes slightly as you hammer, allowing some bounce-back with each strike, improving control and reducing fatigue. The head is cast from 420- grade stainless steel and tool hardened to 50 HRC for maximum durability and effectiveness.
