This Friedrich Dick hand wax file is an excellent choice for rough shaping of wax models and blocks. It has a coarse-cut, curved-tooth design on one side for fast material removal, and coarse double-cut teeth on the other for more refined shaping. It is manufactured with 3/16"-thick steel and features a 2"-long tang that fits into our adjustable file handle (available separately). Wax files feature broad patterns of coarse teeth that quickly and efficiently cut and shape hard wax and other relatively soft materials for model-making. The teeth resist clogging, allow you to form the basic shape for your design models, and then refine their details prior to creating molds.
