The round beads in this labradorite strand feature eye-catching light-blue/green flashes characteristic of labradorite—the beads are light brown/gray and the amount of labradorescence varies from bead to bead. This effect is due to geometric planes within the mineral structure at a submicroscopic level that are almost always oriented in one direction, but in such a way that they cannot be expressed by simple indices.
