This oversized sterling silver spring ring is a sturdy, attractive clasp ideal for heavier necklace and bracelet strands that highlight the clasp as a design element. It includes two end caps, one of which is secured between two fixed rings on the spring ring. To attach the caps to your design, solder chain into the cap or use jeweler's epoxy to secure cord into place. A classic clasp, the spring ring is ideal for all but the heaviest of necklaces. A spring ring is simply a hollow ring with an opening in one side that is closed off by a sliding 'door' inside the hollow ring. The door is held in place by a tiny spring controlled by a tiny nib on the outside of the ring. Press the nib back to compress the spring and open the clasp; release it to close the clasp.
