This Grade-1, commercially pure soft titanium round wire is the ideal weight for all your laser-welding applications. It's coiled onto a special spool featuring one flat, rigid side and one rounded, flexible side that seal gently together, holding the wire steadily in place while you work. It is ductile and can be formed with a bit of effort. The metal is corrosion-resistant and hypoallergenic. Round wire, the bread-&-butter of jewelry making, is ideal for creating components and for a wide variety of techniques. Soft wire is relatively easy to bend, shape and hammer; it is an ideal starting point for forming, shaping and wire-wrapping. Keep in mind that hardness is changeable (by annealing or heat-hardening) and is relative among metal types (each temper will feel and handle differently from one metal to another). When finishing your pieces, also keep in mind that the harder the metal is, the brighter a finish it will take.30-gauge wire is ideal for wire work such as weaving, knitting and wire-wrapping. As you know, jewelry wire has as many uses as there are jewelers and designers who use it to achieve their vision; these suggested uses simply represent some of the more common applications of this metal weight.Sold on a pre-wound spool that contains approximately 1/2 ozt. (about 200 ft.) of wire; minimum order is one spool.Titanium is a strong, lightweight silver-gray metal that is generally safe for those with sensitivities to metal jewelry and virtually no susceptibility to tarnish. Our titanium is Grade-1, commercially pure, material.Titanium is one of a handful of metals with the unique properties of a reactive metal; this allows titanium to take on a controllable, repeatable range of colors when exposed to various voltages in an electrically charged bath, a process called anodizaton. The colors produced will not rust and cannot be rubbed off, although, over time, its luster may dull somewhat.Titanium is ductile and can be formed with a bit of effort; its surface finish and hardness varies somewhat.
